Ingredients
- 4 Medium floury potatoes peeled (like Maris Piper or King Edwards)
- 1 Medium onion
- 1 Egg beaten
- Salt and pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Coarsely grate the potatoes and onion onto a tea towel and wring it tighly to squeeze excess moisture out. Empty this into a large mixing bowl.
- Add the egg and your seasoning (salt and pepper). Do not be afraid to add too much, this prevents the hash browns from becoming bland!
- Heat a splash of oil into a skillet on a medium–high heat. Once the oil is hot , add a spoonful of the potato and onion mixture into the skillet and press down to flatten. Flip the has brown once browned and repeat of the other side until crispy
- Serve piping hot!
